In march 2018 Formigine has signed a Twinning Agreement with the Irish city of Kilkenny. With much in common, the two boast a wonderful castle and a rich associative fabric. They both have the same demographic dimensions, counting approximately 25.000 citizens.
Kilkenny prides herself of some of Ireland’s best medieval set-pieces, but it’s also got two Michelin Stars. It’s home to a humdinger of a castle as well as one of the liveliest festival scenes in the land, the Kilkenny Arts Festival. It’s got urban buzz, and a scattering of picture-perfect towns strung about the River Nore. One minute, you’re on a city break. The next, you’re biking, hiking or driving through rolling countryside.
